Responsibilities
- Provide emergency care to patients of all ages in a Level III trauma center.
- Supervise and collaborate with NP/PAs during their coverage.
- Perform Emergency Medicine procedures and accurately document encounters in Epic.
- Complete facility-required sedation modules during onboarding and at reappointment.
Requirements
- Board certification: BC in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine.
- Training: Residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine; new graduates accepted.
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted Louisiana medical license; DEA with LA address; Louisiana controlled-substance registration; supervising physician license if overseeing PAs.
- Certifications: ACLS and PALS; ATLS required if not ABEM-certified.
- Credentials: Case logs and CME records from the past two years.
- Immunizations and testing: Current flu vaccine, TB test within 12 months, and COVID vaccination as required.
- If ABEM-certified, participation in MOC expected.
