Adelphi is seeking a School Psychologist to provide full-service or partial-service, in-person psychological services to students in Northern Colorado school settings. The School Psychologist will conduct psychoeducational assessments, support eligibility and IEP processes, implement interventions, collaborate with educators and families, and provide consultation, counseling, and progress monitoring based on the requirements of the assigned position.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree, Educational Specialist degree, or doctoral degree in School Psychology
  • Valid Colorado Special Services Provider license with a School Psychology endorsement, or demonstrated ability to obtain the required license before beginning services
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license
  • School psychology experience involving students in an educational setting preferred
  • Knowledge of psychoeducational assessment, eligibility determination, special education regulations, IEP development, intervention planning, and progress monitoring
  • Knowledge of Colorado special education requirements and procedural timelines
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise, and legally compliant evaluation reports
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, guardians, educators, administrators, and community partners
  • Ability to work effectively as part of multidisciplinary and building-based teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, meetings, and student cases
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, honesty, professional judgment, and ethical conduct
  • Ability to work effectively with students and families from diverse cultural, linguistic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds
  • Bilingual oral and written communication skills preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged
  • Successful completion of District-required fingerprinting and criminal background screening before beginning services

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual psychoeducational evaluations and psychological assessments using appropriate standardized instruments, observations, interviews, record reviews, and other assessment methods.
  • Interpret assessment findings and prepare clear, concise, and timely diagnostic and evaluation reports.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation associated with assessments, eligibility determinations, interventions, counseling, and student progress.
  • Develop measurable long-term and short-term objectives based on identified student needs.
  • Establish and maintain an effective work schedule that supports evaluation timelines, meetings, counseling, consultation, and assigned responsibilities.
  • Apply evidence-based strategies and interventions to help students meet IEP goals and educational objectives.
  • Evaluate student performance and progress based on IEP requirements and other identified educational needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary diagnostic, eligibility, placement, and IEP teams.
  • Attend IEP meetings, student conferences, family conferences, department meetings, school meetings, and District meetings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education personnel, related service providers, administrators, families, and other stakeholders to improve student outcomes.
  • Communicate student needs, assessment findings, progress, and recommendations to parents, guardians, and appropriate staff.
  • Monitor academic, behavioral, social, and emotional progress and adjust supports and interventions as needed.
  • Provide consultation regarding educational, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health interventions.

Additional Full-Service Responsibilities

Depending on the assignment, full-service responsibilities may also include:

  • Provide direct and indirect psychological services to students, families, and school personnel.
  • Provide individual and small-group counseling focused on coping, self-regulation, problem-solving, social-emotional development, and independent functioning.
  • Consult with families regarding strategies and interventions that may support student progress.
  • Recommend accommodations, modifications, adaptations, and alternative strategies to address student needs.
  • Advocate for students in accordance with professional ethics, state standards, District policies, and special education requirements.
  • Support equitable student participation in academic, social, cultural, extracurricular, and school-based programs.

General Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate respect for student diversity and make appropriate accommodations for individual needs.
  • Engage families as meaningful participants in the student’s educational program.
  • Use appropriate specialized assessment tools, technology, and materials.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and refrain from completing or providing answers to student classwork or homework.
  • Attend work consistently and arrive at assigned schools, meetings, and student appointments on time.
  • Comply with applicable laws, professional standards, District policies, confidentiality requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education activities.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the school psychology assignment.
