What You'll Be DoingAs a Direct Care Worker, you’ll provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other co-occurring needs in our residential programs. You’ll:
- Build trusting, therapeutic relationships that foster emotional growth and life skill development
- Guide youth through personalized activities, routines, and challenges
- Support healthy behavior using trauma-informed practices and evidence-based interventions
- Create a structured, safe, and empowering environment
- Lead engaging recreational and life skills activities
- Step in with compassion and professionalism during high-stress moments — keeping safety and dignity first
- Be a role model, a listener, and a steady presence they can count on
Work ScheduleAdelbrook is a 24/7 operating Agency. Schedules are flexible, may include early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekdays, weekends, holidays, mandated overtime, mandated holds, and on call responsibilities.What You Bring to the Table
- A high school diploma (Associate or Bachelor’s in Human Services, Psychology, or Education preferred)
- 1 years’ experience working with youth with emotional/behavioral needs or developmental disabilities
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- A heart for helping others and the patience to do it with empathy, structure, and consistency
- Willingness to become certified in: PMT (Physical Management Techniques), CPR, First Aid, DCF Medication Administration
- Ability to work with youth from diverse backgrounds — and see their unique strengths

Pay: $20.50 per hour
