About the Role
The Psychiatric Medical Director is responsible for establishing and overseeing psychiatric clinical practice for all behavioral health services provided by this facility. The psychiatric medical director ensures that quality services are provided in accordance with evidence-based practices, community standards, and consistent with state and federal laws. The psychiatric medical director coordinates with the practice management team to oversee the day-to-day clinical issues and assists in managing psychiatric practitioners. In addition, the psychiatric medical director coordinates with the Physical Health/Addiction Medical Director to establish and oversee integrated care. The psychiatric medical director participates in our facilities committees, including but not limited to: peer review, quality committee, pharmacy committee, safety and wellness committee. Adheres to the facilities Policies and Procedures as well as Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations as applicable. Reports to the Chief Medical Officer for clinical performance.
Responsibilities
- Establish and oversee psychiatric clinical practice for all behavioral health services.
- Ensure quality services in accordance with evidence-based practices and community standards.
- Coordinate with the practice management team for day-to-day clinical issues.
- Assist in managing psychiatric practitioners.
- Coordinate with the Physical Health/Addiction Medical Director for integrated care.
- Participate in facility committees such as peer review, quality committee, pharmacy committee, and safety and wellness committee.
- Adhere to facility Policies and Procedures and Medical Staff Bylaws.
- Report to the Chief Medical Officer for clinical performance.
Qualifications
- MD or DO and completion of an accredited residency program in psychiatry.
- Board certified in psychiatry with an active Arizona license and DEA licensure in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a physician; 3 years management experience preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in substance abuse and behavioral health.
- Familiarity with integrated care models.
Pay range and compensation package
- Monday through Friday with needed flexibility on weekends for call. (Would not be required to go onsite for call - over the phone)
