Quality Control Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a Quality Control Engineer III to lead project quality initiatives and ensure installations meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, reliability, and performance. This role is ideal for a quality professional with experience in electrical systems, construction, engineering, or manufacturing environments who thrives on driving process excellence and continuous improvement.
You will play a critical role in developing and implementing quality programs, coordinating inspections and audits, analyzing performance trends, and partnering with project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution. Candidates with experience in electrical engineering, electrical systems, power infrastructure, manufacturing quality, industrial operations, or construction quality management are strongly encouraged to apply.
What You'll Do:
- Develop, implement, and manage project-specific Quality Control Plans (QCPs).
- Review customer requirements, contract specifications, drawings, and governing standards to ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead quality planning activities and establish inspection, testing, and verification requirements.
- Create and maintain quality tracking logs, inspection schedules, project scorecards, and quality documentation.
- Coordinate and facilitate quality meetings with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Conduct field inspections and quality audits to verify compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and established procedures.
- Monitor and support the USACE/NAVFAC Three-Phase Quality Control process.
- Track submittals and verify approvals to support successful project execution.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, manufacturing, and operations teams to identify quality risks and implement solutions.
- Coordinate inspections and audits with third-party inspectors and regulatory agencies.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues.
- Analyze quality metrics, trends, and performance data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Prepare quality reports and executive-level summaries for project leadership and stakeholders.
- Support quality management initiatives using recognized frameworks such as ISO, Lean Six Sigma, Agile, CMMI, PMBOK, and ITIL.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
What You'll Need:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline.
- 2 years of experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction, or a related field.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, electrical equipment, power distribution, controls, or related engineering disciplines.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
- Experience managing inspections, audits, quality documentation, or compliance programs.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting electrical construction, mission-critical facilities, industrial projects, data centers, power infrastructure, or similar environments.
- Working knowledge of the USACE/NAVFAC Three-Phase Quality Control System.
- Experience in construction quality control, commissioning, installation quality, or field engineering.
- Manufacturing quality experience, including quality systems, process controls, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of ISO-based quality management systems and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience analyzing quality data and developing performance metrics and reporting dashboards.
- Aerospace, Automotive, or Advanced Manufacturing Quality Organizations
