Summary:
The Core Banking Systems Manager will provide leadership and guidance to a team of Systems Analysts that manage the most critical business applications of the Credit Union. These systems provide all functions necessary to support the banking process from ACH and Accounting practices in the back office to Account Opening and Loan Origination in the Front Office. This leader will have full ownership of all aspects of the Core Processing system and will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy, uptime and resiliency of the system as well as all ancillary business systems required to support the banking processes of Credit Union.
As a team leader, the manager will host regular one on one meetings with staff to review their performance, support their success in their current role, and help them grow their career in a way that aligns with their goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of Systems Analysts to provide oversight and configuration management of all Symitar Credit Union systems.
- Supervises advanced Support of Critical Core Applications: OpCon, Synapsys, Synergy, Image Center, Symconnect and ARCU
- Provide coaching and guidance to team members, helping them to achieve success in their current roles as well as their careers.
- As needed, perform the hands on work of a Core Systems Analyst to supplement team bandwidth and capabilities.
- Supervise the Disaster Recover Planning and Testing for all core banking applications.
- Ensure the team maintains documentation of Software configurations and support issue resolution.
- Consistently meet assigned project deadlines and goals.
- Maintain strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations.
- Create accurate and timely reports from Credit Union systems, ensuring data validity.
- Collaborate with business units, vendors and technical staff to achieve business results.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with both technical and non-technical staff
- Strong analytical skills
- Performs such other duties as might be assigned
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years experience working with Banking or other finance related Business Applications in an Advanced Support, Analyst or Administrator capacity
- Minimum 3 year experience supervising others in technical roles.
- Expert in managing and implementing updates and releases for Jack Henry core banking systems, ensuring smooth transitions through meticulous planning, rigorous testing, and effective coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Proven expertise in executing system failovers and disaster recovery drills, minimizing risk of outages and protecting data integrity essential for continuous banking operations.
- Skilled in managing SQL Database Servers, with a focus on data ingestion, extraction, query optimization, and performing backups, which supports robust data availability and system efficiency.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex, cross-functional projects within the core banking domain, from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and delivering results on time and within budget.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a strategic approach to resolving critical system issues, ensuring uninterrupted core banking services in high-stakes scenarios.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering clear understanding and cohesive teamwork across departments.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to work On Call or provide After-Hours support in order to install, upgrade, or resolve issues with critical Software and/or Systems.

Physical Demands:

- Bending, reaching, and squatting may be required to troubleshoot hardware in various office environments.
- Must have the ability to see details at close range (within a few feet) and the ability to adjust focus when working with computers and other equipment.
- Occasional travel may be required to support remote offices or off-site locations, including local travel within the service area.
