Role Description The R&D Lab Tech role at Addison HVAC is a full-time, on-site position based in Orlando, FL. In this role, the R&D Lab Tech supports product development and testing activities for HVAC and dehumidification systems, including setting up, operating, and monitoring lab equipment and test stands. Day-to-day responsibilities include collecting and recording test data, assisting with experiments to validate performance, troubleshooting equipment or test issues, and maintaining a safe, organized lab environment. The R&D Lab Tech also collaborates with engineering and product development teams to prepare test reports, document findings, and suggest improvements to prototypes and processes. This position may involve handling tools and instrumentation, following detailed test procedures, and adhering to quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Technical skills in operating lab equipment and instrumentation relevant to HVAC testing, including data collection tools and measurement devices.
- Knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems, preferably related to HVAC, refrigeration, or thermal systems, and ability to read basic technical drawings or schematics.
- Experience following test procedures, documenting results accurately, and preparing clear reports or summaries for engineering teams.
