Overview
A well-established, multi-state truck and trailer dealership is seeking a President to lead the organization through its next phase of growth and long-term succession. This executive will have full responsibility for strategic direction, operational execution, and financial performance across all locations. The role is ideal for a proven leader within the trucking or dealership industry who can build scalable infrastructure, drive profitability, and position the business for sustained success over the next 10–15 years.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Develop and execute a long-term strategic vision aligned with ownership goals
- Identify new market opportunities, expansion strategies, and revenue streams
- Analyze industry trends, competitive positioning, and customer needs to guide decision-making
- Represent the organization at industry events, associations, and within the community
Sales & Customer Experience
- Drive revenue growth across new/used truck and trailer sales, parts, service, and aftermarket offerings
- Establish and track KPIs tied to revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction
- Implement best-in-class customer experience and CRM strategies to increase retention and loyalty
- Build and maintain relationships with key fleet customers, commercial clients, and partners
Operational & Financial Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple dealership locations
- Own full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Improve operational efficiency across service, parts, and inventory management functions
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental standards
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing leadership team across all functional areas
- Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Drive employee engagement, retention, and professional development initiatives
Inventory & Vendor Management
- Oversee inventory strategy to optimize turnover, availability, and cost efficiency
- Negotiate and manage relationships with OEMs, suppliers, and service vendors
- Monitor inventory trends and adjust purchasing strategies based on market demand
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Introduce and leverage technology solutions including DMS, CRM platforms, and data analytics tools
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Stay ahead of industry trends and adapt business strategies accordingly
Qualifications
- 10 years of senior leadership experience within truck, trailer, automotive, or heavy equipment dealership environments
- Proven track record of leading multi-location operations with full P&L ownership
- Strong expertise across sales, service, parts, and inventory management functions
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth, improve margins, and optimize operations
- Experience building and leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with OEMs, vendors, and customers
- Familiarity with dealership management systems (DMS), CRM platforms, and data-driven decision-making
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Automotive Management, or related field)
