Position: Legal Assistant
Location: Baton Rouge, LA (Onsite)
Pay: 45-60k

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join a small, collaborative legal office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career or with a few years of experience in a legal, administrative, or client-facing role. Training is provided, and we welcome candidates eager to grow in a professional services environment.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the face of the office by managing the front desk, greeting guests, and maintaining a professional environment
- Support attorneys and team members with day-to-day administrative and legal tasks
- Manage complex and ever-changing calendars, including scheduling meetings, travel, and events
- Handle e-filing in state and federal courts, track deadlines, and assist with trial preparation
- Draft, revise, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda
- Coordinate depositions, prepare hearing materials, and support trial logistics
- Process expense reports and manage incoming/outgoing communications
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless workflow and support overall team goals
Requirements:
- Comprehensive knowledge of plaintiff personal injury litigation, including court practices, procedures, and deadlines in both state and federal courts.
- Proficiency in e-filing, docketing deadlines, trial preparation, and calendaring deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of discretion.
- Strong work ethic with a proactive approach, sound judgment, attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding legal environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years as a litigation legal secretary.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in E-Filing
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including document formatting, minimum typing speed of 55 words per minute.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
Salary : $45,000 - $60,000
