Accounting Manager

Position Title: Accounting Manager (Construction/Heavy Manufacturing Experience Required)

Location: Remote – Must work Eastern Time hours

Assignment Type: Permanent Hire

Compensation: $100,000–$110,000

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM ET

Key Responsibilities

• Track and monitor project costs including labor, materials, and subcontractors
• Maintain accurate job cost reports and analyze budget-to-actual results
• Partner with project managers to review project financial performance
• Apply job costing principles including cost allocation, variance analysis, and profitability tracking
• Support cost accounting and inventory accounting processes
• Assist with inventory valuation, material usage tracking, and cost reconciliations
• Prepare and process AIA billing applications
• Support percent-complete billing and revenue recognition calculations
• Ensure accurate and timely invoicing in accordance with contract terms
• Track and reconcile over/under billings
• Prepare and maintain Work-in-Progress schedules
• Assist with monthly close, including job cost accruals and journal entries
• Reconcile project subledgers to the general ledger
• Support certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage compliance
• Ensure payroll and project data align with federal and state contract requirements
• Review and code invoices to appropriate jobs and cost codes
• Support AP and AR activity related to projects
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to senior and executive leadership

Qualifications

• 5 years of accounting experience required
• Recent construction industry experience required
• Strong job costing experience required
• Cost accounting and inventory accounting experience from a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
