Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced an Accounting Consultant (Contract) with a strong background in construction or manufacturing environments, particularly in cost accounting, to support ongoing accounting operations and assist with the implementation and optimization of the Acumatica ERP system. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate job costing, inventory/cost controls, and a successful ERP transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day accounting operations with a focus on cost accounting, job costing, and inventory valuation
- Assist with the Acumatica ERP implementation, including system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting
- Partner with internal teams to map current accounting processes to Acumatica best practices
- Review and validate cost structures, WIP, overhead allocations, and margin reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Support data migration, system cleanup, and validation during implementation
- Develop and document accounting procedures, controls, and workflows within Acumatica
- Train and support end users on Acumatica accounting modules as needed
- Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to management
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA preferred)
- 5 years of accounting experience, including senior-level responsibility
- Direct experience in construction or manufacturing accounting
- Strong cost accounting background (job costing, standard costing, inventory, WIP, variance analysis)
- Hands-on experience with Acumatica ERP, including implementation or post-implementation support
- Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls
- Advanced Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior involvement in ERP system implementations or upgrades
- Experience working in a contract or consulting capacity
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Salary : $40 - $60
