Job Title: Accountant
Location: near Signal Hill, CA in the South Bay area; This role is fully on-site
Salary: $24-$26 / hr (depending upon experience level)

Position Overview:
Our non-profit client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to support the accounting team and assist with processing payroll, supporting AP & AR, bank deposits, and other tasks as directed. This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop accounting skills. Under the direction of the Controller, you will help the accounting team and grow your career in a great environment!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist accounting department with administrative tasks include (but not limited to): handling mail and parcels, managing checks and credit cards, make bank deposits, and provide great customer service to the team and vendors.
- Maintain and organize vendor files and system records as needed.
- Assist Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables team with invoicing, vendor setups, and other duties.
- Perform treasury tasks such as ACH debit authorization and bank exception research.
- Support the Accounting Supervisor as needed.
- Assist with monthly and year-end closing procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Associate's degree preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or professional office preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with general accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Good communication skills for liaising with vendors and field units
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow established policies and procedures
