Addison Central School DistrictParaprofessional-Anticipated Vacancies2026-2027Addison Central School District is seeking full-time Paraprofessionals to work in our elementary schools (PreK-grade 5) for the 2026-2027 school year for anticipated vacancies These individuals will be working with small groups or individual students. The successful candidate must have strong communication and collaboration skills and experience working with school-age children. Responsibilities of the position include providing instructional and social/emotional support to both individual students and small groups, collaborating with teachers to create inclusive and adaptive learning experiences, and helping supervise students during classroom, recess and/or lunch periods. Willingness to contribute to a positive, student-centered, inclusive learning environment is a must.
Job responsibilities for individuals working in our Preschool Program include actively supporting the lead teacher by reinforcing academic concepts and managing classroom flow for all preschool students. Supervising children throughout the dayincluding on the playground and during transitionswhile promoting positive social behaviors and providing vital emotional support. A core duty involves managing essential personal care tasks, such as assisting children with hygiene, toileting, and meals. Maintaining a safe and tidy learning environment by preparing instructional materials, organizing centers, and consistently sanitizing equipment.
Tracking attendance, filing records, and communicating daily with the lead teacher about student progress.If the chosen individual is new to child care, they will need to complete the VT orientation training (a nine hour online training) as well as Protecting Vermont's Children (2.5 hour online training). Within six months individuals must complete CPR/First Aid training. Addison Central School District offers competitive wages.
