Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and replace garage doors, openers, springs, cables, rollers, hinges, and other hardware components with precision and care
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform fabrication, adjustments, and installations on-site or in workshops
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate project execution
- Conduct metal stud framing, trim carpentry, and fixture installation as needed for door setup or remodeling projects
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks to customize or repair door components when required
- Handle heavy lifting safely while transporting and installing large garage door units or materials
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure weatherproofing and insulation of installed systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using mechanical knowledge and electrical experience to diagnose problems effectively
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and project progress for quality assurance
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction site work with a focus on garage door installation or related fields such as remodeling or carpentry
- Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and fabrication processes
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams accurately
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of electrical systems related to garage doors or similar equipment
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting regularly and work at heights safely
- Experience with glass installation, locksmithing, metal stud framing, trim carpentry, fixture installation or cabinet installation is a plus
- Prior handyman experience or construction background preferred
- Knowledge of schematics related to electrical wiring or mechanical systems beneficial
