About the Role
As a key member of our research team, you will lead experimental efforts in electrocatalyst synthesis, membrane electrode assembly (MEA) and catalyst-coated membrane (CCM) fabrication, and electrochemical performance testing. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the design and optimization of cutting-edge electrolysis systems in a collaborative, multidisciplinary research environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and develop non-PGM (platinum group metal-free) electrocatalysts for anion exchange membrane (AEM) water electrolysis.
- Integrate catalysts with ionomers to fabricate and optimize high-performance non-PGM AEM electrodes.
- Conduct comprehensive electrochemical and physical characterization of catalyst materials and electrolysis cells.
- Perform durability testing, identify degradation mechanisms, and propose strategies to enhance electrode longevity.
- Contribute to related research areas, including proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis and fuel cell development.
- Prepare and deliver technical reports, research presentations, and proposals to communicate findings and support project milestones.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Hands-on experience in electrocatalyst synthesis, electrode fabrication, and electrochemical testing.
- Strong background in AEM water electrolysis or other electrochemical energy conversion technologies.
- Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, interdisciplinary research setting and manage multiple projects effectively.
