What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Development Coordinator position at ADAPT of the Hudson Valley?
Summary of Position: Responsible for managing, creating, developing and designing training materials, tools, resources and curriculum for the agency.

Background/Education Required:
Bachelors degree in related field plus 2 years experience. Experience in field may be substituted for education with HR Directors approval.

Duties & Essential Elements (not inclusive)
- Develops and provides training for trainers to maximize their abilities to impart information.
- Develops and implements training programs including but not limited to new staff orientation, recertifications, Diversity, Incident reporting and other needs identified by agency or regulatory bodies.
- Oversees documentation of training, ensuring it is disseminated to program and administrative staff to ensure compliance and accountability for having training completed.
- Regularly reviews and assesses agency training needs to ensure staff are receiving the supports they need to perform position functions.
- May assist in or complete writing grants or surveys designed to maximize or bring in training funds.
- Develops, coordinates and disseminates training calendar and schedule.
- Responsible for management and supervision of staff within department, ensuring that the work performed meets agency expectations.
- Develops training guides, information, presentations, and other tools using a variety of media and print methods.
- Oversees communication of educational opportunities in community to staff, encouraging use of tools and programs available to get further their educational goals.
- Participates in maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work environment.
- May be required to facilitate orientation on nights or weekends once certified.
- May perform related duties as needed or required and designated by supervisor.

- Sits or stands for majority of day depending on training needs.

- Travel expected as part of duties
- Ability to bend, lift, stretch, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and to perform the physical requirements necessary to become a certified instructor in CPR, First Aid, and SCIP-R.
- Completion of all mandatory training sessions and medical documents required by organization and regulatory agencies.
- Ability to work in fast paced office, attention to detail.
- Valid drivers license that meets agencys and insurance companys standards (ongoing throughout tenure)
