The Chief Financial Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer and serves as a core member of the Senior Leadership and Executive Team. This role provides executive leadership and hands on oversight of all financial functions for Adapt Integrated Health Care, with a strong and explicit emphasis on fund accounting, grant accounting, and healthcare regulatory compliance.


This position is responsible not only for strategic financial planning, but also for ensuring disciplined execution, internal controls, and accurate, timely financial reporting. The CFO is expected to be deeply engaged in the day-to-day realities of healthcare finance, including grants management, cost reporting, audit readiness, and financial transparency across programs. This role also ensures compliance with applicable federal and state regulatory agencies governing nonprofit and healthcare finance.


This position is based in Roseburg, Oregon. Regular on-site presence is required to support operational leadership, financial oversight, and cross functional collaboration.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Significant senior level financial leadership experience, typically eight (8) or more years in healthcare, Federally Qualified Health Centers, or complex nonprofit environments with demonstrated accountability for enterprise level financial outcomes
  • Demonstrated expertise in fund accounting and grant management
  • Deep understanding of healthcare finance, reimbursement structures, and regulatory reporting
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear, decision ready information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Health Administration, or Business Administration
  • Prior experience serving as a Chief Financial Officer or equivalent senior finance executive in a highly regulated healthcare or nonprofit environment
  • Experience partnering with Boards of Directors and executive leadership on financial strategy, risk, and sustainability
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)


Essential Responsibilities

Financial Stewardship and Oversight

  • Provide executive leadership and hands-on oversight of all finance and accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll oversight, fixed assets, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness, including treasury functions and safeguarding of organizational funds, securities, and financial assets
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, fund accounting standards, and healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Serve as custodian of organizational funds and financial assets, actively monitoring liquidity, cash flow, and overall financial health and reporting clearly to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors


Fund, Grant, and Regulatory Accounting

  • Lead all fund and grant accounting activities, ensuring accurate tracking, allocation, reconciliation, and reporting of restricted and unrestricted funds
  • Oversee financial components of grants and contracts, including budgeting, drawdowns, and periodic reporting, ensuring alignment with cost reports, audits, and regulatory requirements including compliance with federal, state, and county grant requirements
  • Direct preparation and submission of required financial and regulatory reports, including the Uniform Data System (UDS) report, cost reports, audits, and Board financial materials


Budgeting, Forecasting, and Transparency

  • Lead development of the annual and multi-year operating and capital budgets in close collaboration with Division Chiefs, the Chief Executive Officer, and the Chief Human Resources Officer including responsibility for long range financial forecasting and financial sustainability analysis
  • Ensure departments and divisions have timely access to budget and financial information, reinforcing transparency, shared understanding, and mutual fiduciary responsibility
  • Provide long range financial forecasting and analysis that reflects operational realities, reimbursement trends, workforce costs, and external economic conditions


Executive Leadership and Collaboration

  • Operate as a collaborative executive partner across the organization, supporting informed decision making while reinforcing shared accountability for financial outcomes
  • Monitor healthcare finance, regulatory, reimbursement, and economic trends, translating external conditions into proactive financial strategy and organizational readiness
  • Maintain steady, composed executive leadership during periods of complexity, pressure, or organizational uncertainty, providing clarity, prioritization, and sound judgment at the enterprise level
  • Build, lead, and develop a high performing finance team grounded in accuracy, transparency, and follow through while providing ongoing financial education and decision support to operational leaders
