Trust & Estates Paralegal

Schedule: Full-time | 40-hour workweek | 9:00 AM start
A well-established and growing law firm in Del Mar, CA is seeking an experienced Trust & Estates Paralegal to join its collaborative team. This is a newly created position due to continued growth in the firm's Trust & Estates practice. The firm recently added a paralegal earlier this summer who is excelling, and they are looking to expand the team with a similarly strong professional.
This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated estate and probate matters in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
- Support attorneys with probate administration, trust administration, and estate planning matters
- Prepare, review, and electronically file court documents
- Draft and file real property documents and related notices
- Assist with entity formation and business planning matters
- Support preparation and filing of Federal Estate Tax Returns (Form 706) and other IRS filings
- Maintain organized case files, calendars, and deadlines
- Communicate with clients, courts, CPAs, and other third parties
- Collaborate closely with attorneys and colleagues to ensure efficient matter management
- 5 years of Trust & Estates paralegal experience
- ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate or equivalent attestation required
- Strong experience in probate, estate planning, and trust administration
- Comfortable with e-filing and court document preparation
- Experience handling real property documents
- Background in a CPA firm or estate tax environment is a strong plus
- Familiarity with Form 706 and estate-related IRS filings
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
- Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach
