One of the nation's most prominent and respected law firms is seeking a seasoned Real Estate Paralegal for a direct hire opportunity in either its Irvine or Santa Monica office. Known for handling sophisticated, high-stakes matters across every facet of commercial real estate, this firm offers the resources, reputation, and caliber of work that serious real estate paralegals spend their careers working toward.
This is a substantive role for a professional with deep transactional experience - and title, survey, and zoning expertise is not a nice-to-have here. It is a requirement.
- Location: Irvine, CA or Santa Monica, CA
- Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 DOE
Your Role on the Team
- Assist attorneys in rendering legal services across commercial real estate and acquisition, real estate finance and leasing, and real estate development matters
- Coordinate documentation and closing of real estate transactions including sales, purchases, leases, and mortgage financing; ensure all pre-closing preparation and post-closing follow-up is properly completed
- Review title commitments, title documents, and surveys with a high level of accuracy and expertise
- Draft, compose, and edit transaction documents, closing documents, loan documents, correspondence, and other legal documentation
- Conduct due diligence and legal research including retrieval of statutes and case law using Westlaw, Lexis, and the internet
- Record documents at various recorder's offices; correspond with client organizations via written, telephone, and electronic communication as directed by supervising attorneys
- Enter and release time on a daily basis; perform other duties as assigned
Your Credentials
- 6-10 years of commercial real estate transactional experience required
- Title, survey, and zoning experience is mandatory. Candidates without this background will not be considered
- Bachelor's degree and/or ABA-approved paralegal certificate preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Westlaw and Lexis required
- Ability to handle all aspects of commercial real estate from due diligence through post-closing
- Proven analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to correspond professionally with clients and opposing counsel
- Ability to problem-solve independently and manage projects with minimal supervision
- Flexible and dependable with the ability tto stay late, adjust schedule or travel as needed
