Associate Attorney - Civil Litigation
A well-established, boutique civil litigation firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its growing practice. The firm is known for handling sophisticated litigation matters while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented environment where attorneys receive meaningful responsibility and exposure.
The firm is a full-service civil litigation practice that represents a diverse client base, including corporations, businesses, and individuals.
Attorneys are not siloed by practice group. Associates have the opportunity to work across matters and expand into additional areas of interest as their practice develops. While the primary immediate need is support on a growing General Liability and Construction Defense docket, the firm also handles matters involving:
- General Liability Defense
- Construction Disputes / Construction Defect
- Business Litigation
- Complex Litigation
- Mass Torts & Class Actions
- Personal Injury Defense
This is a hands-on litigation role with the expectation that the associate can contribute quickly.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing general liability and construction defense cases
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and written discovery
- Taking and defending depositions
- Working directly with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel
- Assisting with trial preparation and case strategy
- 1 years of civil litigation experience preferred
- Prior general liability or construction defense experience is a plus
- Hybrid or Remote
- Additional remote consideration for candidates dual‑barred in:
- California & Texas
- California & Nevada
The majority of work will involve California-based cases, though the firm also maintains a busy Texas practice.
- Active California Bar license required
- Dual-barred (CA/TX or CA/NV) candidates are a plus
- $130,000-$170,000 (DOE)
- Billable expectation: 150 hours per month / 1800 annually
