✨ Litigation Secretary - $45-$55/hr | Full-Time | On-Site | San Jose, CAA respected mid-sized law firm in San Jose is seeking a talented Litigation Secretary to support a busy team of attorneys. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced litigation practice and wants to join a collaborative, well-established firm.If you bring strong technical skills, steady litigation experience, and pride in producing clean, accurate legal work, this role offers a stable and rewarding long-term fit. Position OverviewThe Litigation Secretary will play an essential role in supporting multiple attorneys across high-volume, high-stakes cases. This position requires strong document production skills, deep familiarity with litigation workflows, and the ability to stay organized under tight deadlines.This is a full-time, fully onsite position - ideal for someone who enjoys being in-office, working closely with attorneys, and contributing to a team-centered environment. Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents (correspondence, briefs, pleadings, TOAs, TOCs, discovery, etc.)Manage multiple attorney calendars, including hearings, depositions, client meetings, and case deadlinesPrepare and submit State and Federal e-filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court rulesOrganize, maintain, and update client files for easy access and smooth workflowHandle expense reports, check requests, and other administrative financial tasksCoordinate meetings, depositions, and all related logisticsCommunicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team membersSupport case flow by managing deadlines, following up on outstanding tasks, and assisting attorneys as neededUtilize document management systems (NetDocs experience preferred but not required) Requirements5 years of Litigation Secretary experience in a law firm environmentAdvanced MS Word skills and strong legal document production experienceProficiency with State and Federal e-filing proceduresStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitaskExperience managing multiple attorney calendarsFamiliarity with document management systems (NetDocs or similar)Exceptional attention to detail, grammar, and proofreadingAbility to thrive both independently and as part of a teamHigh level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentialityHigh School Diploma required; some college or paralegal coursework a plus Compensation$45-$55/hour (DOE)Full-time, onsite roleStable, supportive environment with long-term career growth potentialAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
