We are a respected downtown San Diego law firm seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support a dynamic civil litigation practice. Our attorneys represent a diverse client base ranging from individuals and small businesses to large national and international organizations. Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of civil litigation experience, strong trial preparation skills, and hands-on experience with e-discovery platforms. This role will be heavily involved in document review, discovery management, deposition support, and trial preparation, working closely with attorneys throughout all phases of litigation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, propound, and respond to written discovery
  • Manage and organize large volumes of litigation documents
  • Review, analyze, and prepare documents for production
  • Prepare draft Judicial Council forms and court-related filings
  • Draft and respond to subpoenas
  • Coordinate deposition logistics and attorney preparation
  • Prepare and manage deposition exhibits, including support during remote depositions
  • Summarize deposition transcripts, medical records, and case-related documents
  • Assist attorneys with all aspects of trial preparation and trial support
  • Maintain court filings, deadlines, and calendaring requirements in California Superior Courts
  • Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, experts, vendors, and court personnel
  • Utilize litigation support technology, e-discovery platforms, and document management systems
  • Track billable time and effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Litigation Paralegal experience supporting a civil litigation practice
  • Strong understanding of California civil litigation procedures and court processes
  • Demonstrated trial preparation and trial support experience
  • Experience managing cases in California Superior Court
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and follow-up skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize competing deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work confidently and professionally with attorneys, clients, and third parties
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal technology platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate
  • Experience with DISCO e-discovery software
  • Familiarity with iManage document management systems
  • Experience supporting employment, probate, real estate, construction defect, or business litigation matters
  • Strong document review and deposition summary experience

Top Three Requirements



1. Litigation Paralegal Experience

Minimum of five years supporting civil litigation matters from inception through trial.

2. Trial Preparation Experience

Hands-on experience assisting attorneys with trial preparation, exhibits, witness files, and courtroom support.

3. E-Discovery Experience

Experience with electronic document review and production workflows, preferably using DISCO.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Salary: Up to $90,000 annually DOE
  • Minimum 1,200 annual billable hours
  • Full-time position
  • Fully onsite during the first six months
  • Hybrid schedule available after onboarding (4 days onsite / 1 day remote)
