Position Overview:
As a Commissary Prep Cook you will be responsible for preparing ingredients and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen within the commissary. This role is responsible for high volume food preparation, labeling and packaging orders for shipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Commissary Prep Cook you will be responsible for preparing ingredients and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen within the commissary. This role is responsible for high volume food preparation, labeling and packaging orders for shipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Washing, peeling, chopping and slicing of vegetables, fruits and other ingredients
- Measuring and portioning ingredients according to store recipes
- Preparing basic sauces, dressing and seasonings
- Assisting in receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation
- Monitoring and reporting food stock levels to prevent shortages
- Ensure and adhere to health and safety regulations, including but not limited to proper handling of food, sanitation and safe use of equipment
- Properly using kitchen equipment such as but not limited to grills, fryers, slicers, knives etc
- Implement and enforce cleanliness standards in compliance with health regulations
- Adhere to all company safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
- Servesafe standard refrigeration temperature.
- Weekday and Weekend hours as needed.
- Up to 20 hours a week
- $16.00 per hour.
- Preferred: One (1) year culinary experience or relevant experience
- Preferred: ServeSafe certification or comparable
- Required: Valid and unexpired driver's license.
- Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc.
