Duties
- Assist in preparing ingredients and assembling menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Cook and plate dishes efficiently while maintaining quality, presentation, and food safety protocols
- Support menu planning by organizing ingredients and ensuring timely meal preparation
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment in compliance with health regulations
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation practices
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools promptly to keep the kitchen running smoothly
- Support catering events and special functions with meal preparation and serving as needed
Experience
- Previous experience in a food industry setting such as restaurants, catering, or cafeterias is preferred
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling techniques required
- Skills in knife handling, food preparation, cooking methods, and meal assembly are highly valued
- Experience with menu planning or working in a kitchen environment demonstrates strong culinary aptitude
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
