Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Retail Sales, the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will be responsible for growing Marianne's Harvest distribution, managing retail relationships, driving in-store performance, and executing sales strategies within the assigned territory.

This role combines account management, field execution, broker management, and new business development. You will work closely with key retail partners, brokers, distributors, and cross-functional internal teams to deliver sales, distribution, shelving, and promotional goals.

Location: US Central/East

Key Responsibilities

  • Retail Account Management & Growth
  • Manage regional and independent retail accounts within assigned territory (e.g., Fresh Thyme, INFRA, Central Markets, The Fresh Market, Wegmans, Earth Fare, etc).
  • Drive distribution, assortment expansion, and new SKU placement across all retailers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with category managers, buyers, and store-level leadership.
  • Manage brokers and distributors to deliver on region-level objectives
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with brand goals and retailer needs.
  • Deliver annual sales, distribution, and velocity targets.
  • Conduct quarterly meetings with retail partners and make store visits when necessary.
  • Pricing and Promotional Execution
  • Ensure all approved pricing, promo discounts and weekly ads are accurately executed across retailers
  • Monitor price integrity in store and online; identify inconsistencies and work with retailers, distributors, and brokers to correct issues quickly.
  • Partner with category managers and brokers to build promotional calendars that drive velocity and support brand goals.
  • Track promotional performance, analyze lift, and report insights to internal teams to optimize future strategy.
  • Manage new item set up forms, price changes, promo submissions to ensure accuracy and on time execution.
  • Forecasting, Reporting & Planning
  • Maintain an accurate pipeline of account opportunities and distribution gains.
  • Provide region-level forecast based on retailer demand and promotional plans.
  • Track performance against goals and deliver detailed reporting on wins, risks, and opportunities.
  • Partner with internal teams on pricing, new item setups, promotional calendars, and brand initiatives.
  • Trade Shows & Events
  • Represent Marianne's Harvest at retail shows, broker roadshows, distributor tabletop events, and product demos.
  • Strengthening retailer and distributor relationships through events and brand storytelling.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3 years of retail CPG sales experience—preferably natural, specialty, or grocery channels.
  • Proven success managing regional retail accounts and driving measurable sales growth.
  • Experience working with brokers, distributors (KeHE/UNFI), and retail merchandising teams.
  • Travel requirements: Available for overnight travel. Travel frequency will vary depending on business needs

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong business acumen with a focus on sales strategy, negotiation, and customer relationship development.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with sales and industry tools such as SPINS for category and sales insights, CRM systems, and basic forecasting software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, pricing trends, and promotional performance.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting, analysis, and presentations.
  • Driven self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively across teams.
