Position Summary:
The Maintenance Helper – Reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and plays a vital role in assisting the Maintenance Fabricator Coordinator and broader maintenance team in the daily execution of repair, fabrication, and installation tasks. This position is responsible for supporting fabrication activities, basic maintenance functions, and general labor tasks to ensure safe, clean, and efficient operations in the plant. The Helper will also be trained in food safety standards and expected to contribute to the organization’s high standards for quality and safety.
Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the setup, layout, and preparation of materials for piping system installations and fabrication projects.
- Support mechanics and fabricator by handing tools, holding materials in place, and performing cleanup after tasks.
- Operate basic material handling equipment under supervision, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists
- Perform general labor tasks such as sweeping, organizing tools, removing scrap material, and cleaning work areas.
- Assist in transporting tools, equipment, and materials to work locations.
- Observe and learn safe practices related to welding, cutting, grinding, and machinery use.
- Follow Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures as instructed during maintenance work.
- Shadow and support maintenance team in routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Assist in reading and understanding work orders as part of task preparation.
- Attend safety and food safety training sessions as required.
Required Qualifications:
- 1 - 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing, industrial and or mechanical shop environment
- Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools safely.
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools preferred.
- Willingness to learn fabrication and maintenance skills through on-the-job training.

- Strong work ethic and desire to contribute to team success.
- Ability to follow safety and cleanliness procedures consistently.
- Willing to work in a loud, industrial environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the shift.
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at heights up to 80 ft
- Willing to work outdoors or in variable temperatures.
- Availability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
