We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, with an emphasis on both residential and commercial cleaning standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and waxing to ensure surfaces are well-maintained.
- Assist with industrial cleaning tasks as needed, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Carry out basic facilities maintenance tasks to support overall building upkeep.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts effectively.
- Provide porter services by moving furniture or equipment as required.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of custodial practices including commercial cleaning techniques.
- Experience in facilities maintenance is preferred.
- Proficiency in floor care methods such as buffing and waxing.
- Ability to perform residential painting tasks when necessary.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning procedures and equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff and visitors.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb a ladder.
