The mission of the District Attorney’s Office is to keep the community safe and to make the criminal justice system better. In support of our mission, the District Attorney’s Office seeks a Client Navigator to support victims and survivors who seek services at the 17th Judicial District Family Justice Center.

The Family Justice Center will provide a centralized, comprehensive support hub for victims and survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault and elder abuse. The FJC will be a one-stop, secure location for victims and survivors to access all necessary services, including individualized needs assessments, safety planning and support, civil and legal support, trauma informed-counseling, housing navigation, childcare, support for basic needs, optional law enforcement reporting and more. The 17th Judicial District includes Adams and Broomfield counties; two fast-growing and diverse communities embedded in the growing Denver metropolitan region.
 
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The FJC Client Navigator position serves as the primary point of contact for individuals seeking immediate services at the Family Justice Center (FJC). The Navigator welcomes and orients clients to the FJC, documents presenting needs of the individual, gathers relevant information, screens for appropriate internal services, coordinates services, and makes external referrals as needed. The role also leads responses to phone, email, and walk-in inquiries; provides compassionate, individualized information and resources; and collaborates with onsite and community partners to ensure timely delivery of services.

This position requires professionalism, integrity, and strong relationship-building skills. The Navigator must establish trust with clients and maintain effective, collaborative partnerships within the FJC and the broader community. Strict adherence to confidentiality policies is essential, along with strong communication skills, healthy boundaries, and sound ethics. Knowledge of victim dynamics and trauma-informed care is required.Client Services
  • Welcome and assess client needs and connect them with appropriate FJC partner services
  • Provide information about available programs, requirements, and service options.
  • Develop individualized needs assessments and coordinated service plans.
  • Complete and review lethality assessment for all clients of the FJC.
  • Follow up after visits to ensure service connections, safety, and further support

Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain confidential client records and meet all documentation requirements.
  • Prepare and submit summaries and reports in accordance with confidentiality and legal protocols.

Collaboration and Team Support
  • Assist the FJC Executive Director in planning and preparing for the opening of the Family Justice Center and assist in planning for the FJC’s growth and development
  • Assist the FJC Executive Director in the daily operations of the FJC, assessing and meeting needs as required
  • Support and participate in the Domestic Violence High Risk Team.
  • Collaborate with the Domestic Violence High Risk Team in the development of services for domestic violence victims generally
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, law enforcement, and other partnering agencies.
  • Assist in organizing and delivering awareness and training sessions for partners and the community.
  • Assist with training and oversight of volunteers and interns. Aid with front desk and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with staff, partners, and the community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the FJC’s goals, mission, and strategic plan.
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology or related field, or equivalent experience. Work and lived experience may substitute for education.
  • Minimum of three years work-related experience with victim services, criminal justice, social work, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and ability.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with Colorado’s Victims’ Rights Act (VRA) and working familiarity with trauma-informed approaches and laws governing domestic and family violence, child abuse, and elder abuse.
  • Demonstrated experience in community outreach and direct service provision.
  • Complete 48 hours of domestic violence and sexual violence training within the first year of employment and eight hours annually thereafter.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking is preferred.
  • Employees must be able to work onsite.
  • Background check required.
This position will initially be based at our main office in Brighton, Colorado, or at our upcoming Family Justice Center in Westminster, Colorado. Employees may be required to commute occasionally between both locations.

Salary : $75,935 - $110,105
