This position is located at Office of the Chief Information Officer Client Experience Center - CEC.This is not a remote position. You will be required to be in your duty station office per CEC telework policy.

Specialized experience for this position includes demonstrated achievement as a senior IT systems administrator within an enterprise scale IT infrastructure, with experience utilizing a wide range of server operating systems and technical support functions .
Examples of such experience include:
Provide recommendations on architectural modifications, system enhancements, and technology selections to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational strategy; OR
- Perform application development and enhancement work across multiple systems to support workflow optimization, process automation, data integration, and customer-facing service delivery; OR
-Serve as a technical authority in the design, acquisition, implementation, and operation of Microsoft server operating system platforms and associated Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

Responsibilities:
As an Information Technology Specialist (SYSADMIN), you will:- Serves as the technical authority for evaluating CEC projects for compliance with USDA and enterprise IT architecture standards.
- Provides expert recommendations on architectural modifications, system enhancements, and technology selections to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and strategically aligned.
- Coordinate with other offices to achieve integrated systems administration for information system design and development.
- Collaborates with stakeholders across CEC, agency partners, and enterprise technical teams to design and recommend improvements to applications, systems, and infrastructure. Identifies, evaluates, and proposes innovative, practical, and forward-leaning technological advancements for consideration in future CEC design and implementation cycles.
- Serves as a technical expert in the design, acquisition, implementation, and operation of Microsoft operating system platforms and associated Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software.
- Identifies emerging technical risks, system vulnerabilities, and infrastructure concerns across hardware, operating systems, software platforms, and complex systems integrations.
