A Loader Operator operates straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes, and to load trucks or railcars: Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader. Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front-end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material. Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.

Responsibilities
- Maintain the stockyard to include pushing piles when stock arrives, notify management when stock is needed.
- Keep bins stocked with material while asphalt plant is running.
- Perform daily inspection of vehicle at plant
- Inspection will include (but not limited to) maintaining fluids at normal operating levels, keeping autogreaser full of grease, keeping all grease fittings greased, cleaning filters and changing when needed.
- Ability to provide physical labor to shovel material as needed.
- Assist with picking up debris and maintaining a clean environment at plant
- Assist with maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Performs a variety of manual or semiskilled tasks related to cleanup and grounds maintenance in and around asphalt plant to include asphalt plant machinery, including greasing, adjusting equipment, and cleaning the plant area, conveyors, and silos.
- Assist with the production of hot mix asphalt and pulling material samples for quality control.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and procedures, wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Uses tools such as sledge hammer, wrenches, screwdrivers, cutting torch, welder, pneumatic hammer/drill, sand blaster, pipe wrench, hand shovel.
- The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
- The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- The ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
- The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
- The ability to time your movements or the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object or scene.
- The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
- The ability to see details at close range and at a distance and to judge the distance between you and an object.
- Must be physically capable of climbing stairs/ladders at extended heights to reach top of plant.
- High School diploma/GED.
- Ability and willingness to follow verbal instructions
- Must have reliable transportation
- Minimum 3 years experience operating heavy equipment
- Candidates must be able to work overtime, nights, and weekends, as projects demand.
- Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test as well as random tests if selected during employment.
