Job Summary:
Swing Shift, Graveyard, part time and on call openings!
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Technician to join our team. You will provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for children and youth up to age 18.
Staff are responsible for meeting each childs daily physical, emotional, educational and behavioral needs while providing stability, dignity and positive development in a home-like setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and care for infants, children, and adolescents (ages 0-18)
- Assist with daily living activities, including meals, hygiene, homework, dressing and bedtime routine.
- Transport youth to medical and dental appointments, therapy, court and community activities as needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, structured and welcoming home environment.
- Build positive, trusting relationships while modeling appropriate behavior and life skills.
- Accurately document daily observations, incidents, medications and services provided.
- Communicate effectively with caseworkers, medical professionals, schools and other services provided.
- Follow agency policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements at all times.
Skills
- Prior experience working with children, adolescents or vulnerable populations is preferred.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of children and youth
- Excellent client communication skills combined with the ability to remain calm under pressure during crisis situations
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and sound decision-making abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and actively participate in daily activities including caring for young children and teens, recreational outings and emergency situations.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques, or behavior management is preferred (training may be provided)
Pay: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour
