Program and Roles Summary: Ensure that all consumer information data is entered into the electronic health record system in coordination with Intake reception. These duties primarily include but are not limited to working closely with our MCR Team in receiving and dispatching of crisis calls, documentation of the Crisis Call, and consumer Case Transfer information received from external agencies and updating Medicaid eligibility and verifying insurance. The Mobile Crisis Intake Triage staff must interact with other staff members and consumers while performing several other duties simultaneously.

Reporting Relationship

Reports To: MCR Clinical Manager

Supervises (Position Title): None

Principal Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our MCR team in receiving and dispatching crisis calls.
  • Enroll and re-enroll consumers, ensuring all applicable information in the electronic health record system.
  • Complete and/or update client demographic information.
  • Enter consumer information obtained from documentation received from MCR team and consumer’s Case Transfer from external agencies.
  • Assign clinical team members to consumer cases as directed, when needed.
  • Verify consumer eligibilities for services when required.
  • Notify the Crisis and Referral Entry System (C.A.R.E.S.) or Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) of any inconsistencies with consumers’ information.
  • Send alert notifications within electronic system as designated for changes in demographics, consumer status, coverage, authorizations, etc.
  • Complete Consumer Registration information as required.
  • Notify billing team or program supervisory staff of consumers that are ineligible for services.
  • Duties are performed in a typical office environment. No unusual or adverse working conditions exist.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and (1) One Year Experience in a related field.
  • Experience providing organizational and administrative support in behavioral health, non-profit, or social service required
  • Experience working with Illinois Medicaid programs, IL Rule 132/140, or DHS State grant programs, preferred
  • Knowledge and utilization of electronic medical record systems
  • Previous experience as a direct service treatment provider encouraged
  • Computer and smartphone proficiency, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Tools (ex. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access) and web-based project management tools, strong typing skills, and ability to effectively utilize electronic internal collaboration and communication tools (ex. Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365)

    • This position requires the individual possess an understanding of evidence-informed practices, engagement strategies, boundary setting, concurrent documentation, working in a community setting, organizing, motivational interviewing, and family systems.
    • Must be familiar with the operation of but not limited to desktop computer systems, cell phone, laptop, notebook, netbook, and tablet type devices knowledge of community resources and ability to use a variety of applications on a computer.
    • Staff are expected to have the ability to work remotely from home if necessary, and with Supervisory approval. Safety Protocols while at the office and within the community are to be strictly adhered.

    Schedule

    • Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Hourly, 37.5 hours per week

    Mental/Physical Demands

    Ability to solve problems and successfully cope with situations where some or minimal standardizations exists. Ability to effectively gather, assess, write, and present information and respond to client inquiries. Work requires prolonged concentration, proficiency in the use of computers, and the ability to manipulate data. While performing these tasks, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk and stand. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    Environmental Conditions

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Duties are performed in a typical office environment. No unusual or adverse working conditions exist.
