Lead Host/Hostess at Rix

As the Lead Host, you'll be the first impression of our restaurant while serving as the leader of the host team. In addition to creating exceptional guest experiences, you'll help oversee daily front door operations, coach and support hosts, and work closely with management to ensure efficient seating, smooth service flow, and outstanding hospitality. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about guest service, leads by example, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the host team by setting the standard for exceptional hospitality and professionalism.
• Train, coach, and mentor new and existing hosts on service standards, reservation procedures, and guest interactions.
• Provide real-time guidance and support during service while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
• Communicate operational updates, service expectations, and daily priorities to the host team.
• Assist managers in identifying coaching opportunities and recognizing outstanding performance.
• Welcome guests with warmth and professionalism, creating a memorable first impression.
• Oversee the seating process to maximize efficiency while maintaining balanced server rotations and an exceptional guest experience.
• Monitor the dining room flow and adjust seating strategies based on business needs.
• Ensure the host stand, lobby, waiting area, and entrance remain clean, organized, and presentation-ready.
• Monitor menus, reservation materials, and host supplies, communicating inventory needs to management.
• Assist with opening and closing host responsibilities, ensuring all procedures are completed accurately.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a host/hostess or guest service role is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in reservation management systems and basic computer skills.
• Dedication to providing outstanding hospitality, with a genuine desire to create memorable experiences for our guests.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the restaurant environment for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Flexibility to bend, stoop, and reach overhead.
• Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to operate restaurant equipment and communicate with staff and customers.
