Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including unloading materials and organizing tools
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely to perform tasks such as concrete mixing, cutting, pouring, and finishing
- Install rebar, formwork, metal stud framing, and other structural components according to blueprints and schematics
- Read and interpret construction plans, technical drawings, and blueprint specifications to execute tasks accurately
- Perform concrete work including pouring, finishing, cutting, and sealing surfaces; operate concrete mixers and pumps as needed
- Support masonry work, stucco application, plastering, roofing tasks, and restoration projects
- Follow all safety protocols related to construction workplace safety regulations; wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to construction tools and equipment operation
- Experience with blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings or schematics
- Knowledge of concrete forming, concrete finishing techniques, and concrete pumping processes
- Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and proper use of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining focus on safety protocol adherence
- Understanding of construction estimating processes for material needs and project timelines
- Skilled in working on various construction projects including renovation, restoration, framing (including metal stud framing), masonry, flooring installation, caulking, trim carpentry, roofing, plastering, stucco application, and masonry work
