Graphic Designer – Full-Time (Stormwater & Fire Department)

Location: Sarasota County, FL

Schedule: Full-Time | Duration: 12 months or longer

Salary: $25/HR

Experience Level: Mid-Level (2 years)

Position Overview:

Sarasota County is seeking a skilled and creative Graphic Designer to join our Creative Services team. This full-time position supports both the Stormwater Department and the Fire Department, with your time equally divided between the two. You’ll create high-impact visual content across print, digital, and video platforms that inform and engage the public.

Responsibilities:

Stormwater Department (50%):

• Design and produce communication materials including brochures, flyers, posters, signage, presentations, and reports.
• Create digital assets for social media, websites, TV, and video projects.
• Collaborate with the Creative Services team to support environmental programs and outreach campaigns.
• Ensure all visual communications adhere to Sarasota County brand standards.
• Develop motion elements and templates for digital communication and public information initiatives.

Fire Department (50%):

• Develop graphic content for public safety campaigns, recruitment materials, training tools, and internal communications.
• Produce designs for social media, websites, TV, and emergency information platforms.
• Maintain consistency in tone, messaging, and visual identity across all Fire Department communications.
• Create graphics, motion assets, and templates for digital and print campaigns.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Graphic Design or related field (minimum 2 years)
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in graphic design
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects preferred)
• Strong design portfolio demonstrating both print and digital work
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Experience designing within brand guidelines and working with cross-functional teams
