Schedule
- Sunday – Thursday: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Friday – Monday: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience preparing food for large groups
- Previous experience coordinating or leading kitchen staff preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation practices
Overview
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Lead Cook to join our food service team. The Lead Cook is responsible for planning, preparing, cooking, and serving nutritious meals and snacks while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This role also helps coordinate kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared and served according to established schedules and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of meals and beverages using approved cooking methods and kitchen equipment.
- Ensure meals are prepared in appropriate quantities based on the number of individuals being served.
- Maintain meal preparation and service schedules.
- Assign tasks, instruct, and monitor work performed by other kitchen staff and food service workers.
- Plan menus and recommend food and supply purchases needed for meal preparation.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and in compliance with health regulations.
- Promote proper food handling procedures and personal hygiene among kitchen staff.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a standard kitchen environment.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and squatting may be required.
- Exposure to hot cooking surfaces and cold storage areas.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry 25–50 pounds of food, supplies, and kitchen equipment.
