What You’ll Do
- Teach and mentor secondary (dual-enrolled) and post-secondary students in Surgical Technology.
- Lead and manage the CTE curriculum, ensuring alignment with district, state, and college standards.
- Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
- Oversee student testing, skill assessments, and program evaluations.
- Use industry trends, employer feedback, and performance data to strengthen instruction.
- Support student organizations such as SkillsUSA or HOSA.
- Collaborate with staff, administration, and community partners to build a high-performing program.
- Participate in accreditation activities, program advisory meetings, and college events.
- Maintain equipment, classrooms, records, and program materials.
- Represent the program in the community and support college recruitment and student success initiatives.
What Makes You a Strong Fit
- Bachelor’s degree 1 year of experience OR Associate degree 2 years OR High School/GED 3 years in the CTE field.
- Certified (or certifiable) as a CTE instructor in the appropriate subject area, or eligible for state certification.
- National or state-recognized Surgical Technology certification approved by the Florida Department of Education.
- Strong communication skills, organization, and the ability to manage groups effectively.
- Motivational, student-centered approach to teaching.
- Solid understanding of Surgical Technology equipment, procedures, and best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to dynamic instructional needs.
