MAJOR FUNCTION
Responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of scalable web applications. This role spans both front-end and back-end development, with a focus on collaboration, clean coding practices, and delivery of practical software solutions that align with business needs.
ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES
Application Development & Maintenance
- Build, test, and maintain responsive web applications using modern front-end and back-end frameworks.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code aligned with organizational standards.
- Convert business requirements into technical solutions that are scalable and secure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs or performance issues across the full stack.
- Follow security and accessibility standards throughout the Software Development Lifecycle.
Collaboration & Project Support
- Work closely with developers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure consistent project delivery.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Engage in code reviews to maintain high code quality and promote best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
Performance, Optimization & Innovation
- Optimize application performance and ensure system scalability and uptime.
- Stay informed on emerging tools, frameworks, and trends to improve code quality and productivity.
Professional Development
- Attend required training and maintained relevant certifications.
- Travel for educational events, conferences, or site visits as needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Development Knowledge
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript; experienced with frameworks like React.
- Back-end development skills using Node.js or equivalent environments.
- Experience implementing and interfacing with REST or GraphQL APIs.
- Proficient in object-oriented programming, functional programming, asynchronous programming, and design patterns
- Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker) and cloud platforms (e.g., DigitalOcean).
- Familiar with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
- Proficient with version control systems (e.g., Git) and development platforms (e.g., GitHub).”
- Experience debugging web applications and services

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: At least one (1) year of professional experience in full stack development or a closely related role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent professional experience.
- Certification: Certified Associate JavaScript Programmer (JSA) – must possess or obtain within the first year of employment.
- Core Technical Capabilities:
- Front-end development with JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React.
- Server-side programming with technologies such as Node.js.
- Practical experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Exposure to cloud-hosted environments and containerization tools like Docker.
- Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD workflows.
- Understanding of modern API architecture
- Knowledge of testing frameworks and methodologies.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, analytical thinking, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and be eligible to obtain a Florida driver’s license at the time of employment.
SPECIAL PREFERENCES
Preference may be given to candidates with additional experience in the following areas:
- Development experience with artificial intelligence or machine learning tools and libraries.
- Experience with React frameworks like Next.js, React Router, or TanStack.
- Familiarity with modern build tools and bundlers like Vite.
- Use of utility-first CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS).
- Familiarity with animation libraries like Framer Motion.
- Experience with design tools like Figma.
