What are the responsibilities and job description for the Evening Custodian-Full Time position at Acushnet Public Schools?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Dust mop and sweep all corridors and classrooms daily
2.Empty all trash containers and place trash in dumpsters daily; rinse or wash containers as needed
3.Thoroughly clean and wash all surface areas in restrooms and locker rooms daily (i.e. floors, sinks, toilets, shower stalls, soap and towel dispensers)
4.Check and fill all soap and towel dispensers daily
5.Clean all drinking fountains daily
6.Wet mop any floor areas as needed
7.Clean lunch tables daily
8.Sweep lunch room floors daily
9.Wet mop lunch room floors as needed
10.Vacuum all entrance mats and outside mats as needed
11.Machine vacuum all carpeted areas as needed
12.Inspect entrances and sidewalks for damage, clutter/dirt, malfunction, or other hazards daily
13.Extract soiled areas on carpets as needed
14.Maintain clean and proper working order of custodial equipment
15.Strip and re-wax all vinyl floors as scheduled
16.Wash all window glass as scheduled
17.Weekend facility inspection
18.Assist with cleanup after public events (i.e. town meeting, School Committee meetings, basketball, PTO meetings, etc.)
19.Check for and report any vandalism to Administration immediately
20.Turn in any items or found articles to “Lost and Found” area
21.Secure all areas at end of shift, turning off lights, locking all doors and windows, setting alarm when leaving
22.Dust all horizontal surfaces in all areas, especially classrooms, weekly
23.Sweep under all entrance mats as needed
24.Check all furniture for breakage and report immediately to maintenance department daily
25.Clean all light fixtures as scheduled
26.Wash inside and outside all lockers yearly
27.Move furniture and equipment as required
28.Lightly sand (screen) gymnasium floors yearly and re-varnish
29.Snow removal and salting of all walkways as needed
30.Make minor repairs as directed (i.e. replacing light bulbs)
31.Assist visiting members of the public who are utilizing the facilities
32.Receive and deliver any parcels to appropriate locations
33.Follow all custodial performance duties within the Master Plan
34.Performs other duties consistent with this job goal or as assigned
