What are the responsibilities and job description for the .4 School Psychologist position at Acushnet Public Schools?
.4 School Psychologist Evaluates and assesses difficulties of referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices.
* Administers cognitive, educational, and other testing and writes evaluation reports.
* Communicates test and report resutls and recommends services for students during meetings and conferences.
* Chairs IEP meetings as assigned by the Director of Student Services.
* Complies with federal and state regulations as well as local policies in performance of duties.
* Consults on special educational needs of developmentall disabled, social-emotional learners, and learning disabled children.
* Maintains case records on al referred students.
* Recommends corrective procedures.
* Provides individual and group counseling and mediation services for students and families as assigned by the Director of Student Services.
* Conducts home visits and consults with staff and families in order to provide appropriate information and support services.
* Provides consultation to staff and families regarding school behavioral issues and guidelines for positive change.
* Consults with outside agencies to coordinate services and interventions and to provide and obtain necessary information in order to help students deal with economic, emotional, physical, and academic challenges.
* Assists with in-service training of school personnel.
* Keeps abreast of new developments in the field.
*Performs any other duties as may be required by the Director of Student Services or the Superintendent of Schools.
Compensation will be in accordance with the salary scale outlined in the Acushnet Teachers Association collective bargaining agreement.
