Description:The Payroll Supervisor oversees day-to-day payroll operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliantpayroll processing. This role supervises payroll staff, ensures adherence to federal, state, and local wageand hour laws, and serves as a subject matter expert for payroll-related matters. The Payroll Supervisorpartners closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors to support organizational goals and maintainpayroll integrity.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorilywith or without accommodation. Supervise and support payroll staff, including training, workload management, and performance oversight Prepare, review and approve payroll processing for hourly, salaried, and bonus payrolls Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour, and tax regulations Oversee payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting Review and resolve payroll discrepancies, adjustments, and employee inquiries Ensure accurate processing of terminations, final pay, PTO payouts, garnishments, and retroactive pay Coordinate payroll tax filings, year-end processing (W-2s), and vendor relationships Partner with HR on employee data changes, benefits deductions, and policy interpretation Develop, document, and improve payroll processes and internal controls Support payroll-related system implementations, upgrades, and testing Assist with internal and external audits and provide requested payroll documentation Communicates collaboratively with other department managers and leaders. Other duties as assigned by management.Requirements:QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES: REQUIRED:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 5 years of progressive payroll experience, including supervisory or lead responsibilities Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations (FLSA, state wage laws, tax requirements) Experience with payroll systems and timekeeping platforms Advanced proficiency in Excel and payroll reporting toolsDESIRABLE:Experience in the Ophthalmic healthcare industries.CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:Certified Payroll Professional (preferred)KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/TALENTS:Strong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environmentEffective leadership, coaching, and communication skillsHigh level of discretion and confidentialityStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsWORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounterswhile performing the essential functions of this job.This is primarily an office classification.
