JOB OBJECTIVE:
The ILS Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the Independent Living Skills (ILS) program. They serve as the primary liaison to NLACRC service coordinators, communicating about client progress, needs changes, and incidents, and attending IPP or periodic review meetings as needed. The Coordinator resolves issues such as grievances or emergencies, manages program budgets to ensure authorized hours and resources are used efficiently, and promotes ARC’s mission by ensuring person-centered practices throughout the team.

- Design individualized ILS plans, selecting appropriate goals and instructional strategies.
- Conduct or co-conduct intake assessments, set service goals, and oversee plan implementation.
- Monitor progress by reviewing data, preparing reports, and adjusting approaches to achieve measurable outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with Regional Center and Title 17 requirements, maintaining accurate documentation (attendance, data sheets, reports, SIRs).
- Participate in program evaluations to improve service delivery.
Staff Supervision & Training:
- Provide direct supervision and training to ILS Instructors.
- Conduct observations and feedback sessions to ensure consistency with program policies, confidentiality (HIPAA), and risk management standards.
- Manage scheduling, staff assignments, and service authorization compliance.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Attend IPP meetings and collaborate with caregivers and others to deliver holistic support.
- Lead staff or team meetings and agency-wide in-service trainings.
Direct Service (as needed):
- Provide supervision and training per each individual’s IPP/ISP.
- Research and plan activities aligned with client goals and objectives.
Safety:
- Report Special Incidents (SIRs) per Regional Center and ARC policy.
- Ensure safe, professional, and meaningful services.
- Assist with transfers (wheelchair, vehicle, bed, restroom) when needed.
- Follow emergency procedures and practice safe driving in compliance with California laws.
Communication:
- Maintain prompt communication with supervisors and staff about concerns, emergencies, and schedule changes.
- Must have a working cell phone and respond to staff in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 2–3 years’ experience in developmental disability services, with at least one year in a supervisory or lead role.
- Direct experience in ILS or Supported Living preferred.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in instructional planning, Microsoft Office, and case management software.
- Ability to interpret client AST and behavior plans.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Completion of mandatory vendor trainings, plus valid First Aid/CPR.
Required Documentation:
- DOJ, FBI, and DMV background clearance.
- Valid CA driver’s license, vehicle registration, and liability insurance.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work in client homes, offices, conference rooms, and outdoor community settings.
- Physical activity includes lifting/pushing up to 50 lbs., bending, kneeling, stooping, running.
- Must maintain keen vision for safety monitoring and report reviews.
- May involve long periods of sitting while driving between worksites.
