Parts & Inventory Specialist
We're looking for someone who enjoys keeping things organized, solving problems, and making sure our technicians have the right parts at the right time. If you're someone who likes working with both people and inventory, takes pride in staying organized, and enjoys a mix of office and shop responsibilities, we'd love to meet you.
In this role, you'll help keep our shop running by purchasing parts and materials, maintaining inventory, organizing the parts room, and ensuring work orders are accurate and complete. You'll work closely with our technicians, vendors, and management team to source quality parts at competitive prices while balancing delivery times and shop needs.
Responsibilities
- Purchase parts, materials, and supplies needed for new trailer builds, repairs, and refurbishments.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and keep the parts room clean, organized, and easy to navigate.
- Research pricing and availability from multiple vendors to obtain the best value while considering quality, reliability, and delivery times.
- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming parts and materials.
- Process returns, warranty items, and vendor discrepancies as needed.
- Review work orders for accuracy and completeness, ensuring parts are correctly allocated and documented.
- Communicate with technicians, vendors, and management regarding parts availability, backorders, and delivery schedules.
- Use Microsoft Excel to maintain inventory records, track purchasing information, and organize data.
- Use email professionally to communicate with vendors, request quotes, place orders, and follow up on deliveries.
- Enter and maintain accurate information in company computer systems and purchasing software.
- Read and interpret work orders, parts diagrams, equipment manuals, and other technical documents.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accurate records.
- Help identify opportunities to improve inventory organization and purchasing efficiency.
- Follow all company safety policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
What We're Looking For
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable using computers and common business software, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook/Email, and data entry systems.
- Ability to learn new software and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Mechanical knowledge of trailer components such as hydraulics, electrical systems, ABS brakes, suspensions, axles, wheels, and tires is preferred.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools when needed.
- Positive attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and a willingness to help wherever needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and working overhead.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
