Position Summary
The Inside Sales Representative at Formulator Sample Shop is responsible for supporting customer growth by providing product recommendations, promoting new ingredient launches, and maintaining strong customer relationships within the cosmetic manufacturing and formulation industry. This role works closely with sales and marketing to identify growth opportunities, monitor industry trends, and ensure customers receive exceptional service and product support.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor customer emails daily and provide timely, accurate responses to inquiries
- Recommend cosmetic raw materials and ingredients based on customer formulation needs
- Promote new ingredient launches through targeted email campaigns and customer outreach
- Create and send email blasts and newsletters to support product promotions and customer engagement
- Review quarterly and yearly sales performance and customer purchasing trends
- Run customer, sales, and product reports to identify growth opportunities and areas needing improvement
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support long-term business growth
- Conduct competitor surveillance to stay informed on market positioning, pricing, and product offerings
· Submit New Product Development requests for customer customizations
- Monitor cosmetic industry trends, ingredient innovations, and social media trends relevant to customers
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align product promotions and social media strategy
- Assist with planning and completing social media content and posting schedules
- Support promotional efforts by identifying trending products and customer demand shifts
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Preferred experience in sales, customer service, account management, or related sales support role.
- Strong understanding of customer service and relationship management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of social media platforms and trends with the ability to identify opportunities to promote products and engage target audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for reporting and analysis
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Effective organizational skills and attention to detail
