An international manufacturer of automotive components in the Columbus, IN area is hiring a Purchasing Coordinator to assist with materials purchasing activities for their facility. The ideal candidate has strong experience with logistics, procurement, and manufacturing processes in the automotive industry, and works well in a fast-paced environment while upholding the highest level of quality. Purchasing Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Assist in the purchasing of materials needed for production and other daily operation while ensuring high quality of materials, optimal cost and quality, and on-time delivery
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchase activities and ensure compliance with any relevant industry standards or company policies
- Assist purchasing team with invoicing, as well as resolving discrepancies in pricing between relevant departments
- Track and audit performance of supplier(s) and address any issues with delivery, materials quality, or pricing
- Generate documentation to rate various performance metrics, report on market trends, or report on other studies as directed by management team
- Other duties as needed
Purchasing Coordinator Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on purchasing and administrative support experience, preferably in manufacturing, automotive, or other related industries
- Proven aptitude for data analysis related to cost comparisons, purchase ordering, and impact/effectiveness studies
- Prior experience with 5S methodology and implementation
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work cross-functionally while balancing multiple priorities
- Ability to work well and collaboratively in a multicultural environment
- Proven experience with ERP systems utilization (preferably JD Edwards)
