Operations Coordinator -- Automotive Industry (36157)

An International automotive parts distributer in the Novi, MI area is looking for an Operations Coordinator candidate with solid manufacturing skills who will take charge of a coordination logistic operation both internationally and domestically as well as support customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate would have at least of 1 year of experience in logistics related responsibilities or customer facing experience. Automotive industry or logistics field experience will be a plus.

This is a full-time, direct-hire, onsite position.

Operations Coordinator RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for communicating with freight forwarder and warehouse to monitor the process and operations
• Update shipping schedule, communicating with customer for order status
• Negotiate shipping schedule and create shipping plan
• Analyze and create a report on status of the shipment for weekly meeting
• Work with Sales department and accounting department to track and monitor goods
• Answer inbound and outbound emails and phone calls
• Monitors shipments and resolves issues to assure requirements are met
• Responsible for creating RFQs, invoices and following up
• Negotiates and administers purchase orders/contracts with suppliers
• Responsible for administrative tasks such as answering phone call, emails. Purchasing office supplies etc.
• Other responsibilities might be assigned by manager

Operations Coordinator QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operation Management, or related degree preferred
• Must be able to maintain a high degree of flexibility with assigned duties
• Ability to work both independently and in a cross-functional team environment
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to use Excel including functions such as VLOOKUP is a much and ability to use SAP and ERP or SQL System is a plus
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines
• This position includes manufacturing and office work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
