Entry Level Quality Engineer - Global Automotive Parts Manufacturer (#36500)

A global automotive NVH parts manufacturing company is currently seeking a motivated Entry level Quality Engineer to join their facility in the Novi, MI area.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year work experience in automotive industry including Co-op and internship, and the ability to interface effectively with customers and suppliers but Entry level candidates and new graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply!

This is a full-time, direct hire position.

Entry Level Quality Engineer Responsibilities:

• Responsible for development stage for APQP including model reviews, quality system audit and evaluation
• Responsible for coordinating PPAP for new parts, ensuring the requirements, and improving the process as needed
• Responsible for prototype quality control including inspect prototype parts, and coordinate corrective actions
• Responsible for confirming customer prototype order and monitor delivery schedule
• Arrange shipment and transportation for prototype delivery
• Responsible for supplier quality support including reviewing prototype documents and visit suppliers to provide any problem-solving activities for quality issues
• Responsible for customer quality and address any customer concerns
• Manage, monitor and maintain prototype parts inventory
• Support internal document control program
• Support identification of process improvement opportunities
• Support continual improvement activities
• Support the deployment of Quality Management System
• Monitor the manufacturing quality performance indicators through scrap data analysis
• Other duties might be assigned by manager

Entry level Quality Engineer Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Industrial Technology
• 1 years’ experience in Quality Engineering preferred but not a requirement
• Experience in manufacturing quality assurance, cost reduction, and continual improvement will be a plus
• Experience with ADQP, PPAP, SPC, Six Sigma, Minitab preferred
• Experience with IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 will be a plus

This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
