Job Summary
The School Program Staff plays a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children participating in school programs. This position involves working closely with children to facilitate learning and development through structured activities, providing guidance, and ensuring the well-being of each child. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and possess skills in behavior management, the flexibility to learn and grow within the program. We will train anyone who is interested in applying for the program.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children during program activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions among participants.
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and development.
- Provide support for children with special needs or requiring additional assistance.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment conducive to learning.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and other stakeholders regarding children's progress and any concerns.
- Administer first aid as necessary and maintain safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance program offerings and improve overall effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a childcare, daycare, camp, or educational setting is preferred but not required.
- EXPERIENCE IN CHEER or DANCE REQUIRED
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques is essential.
- First aid certification is a plus; will certify all candidates after.
- Background in early childhood education is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with children and parents alike.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when needed.
- Must be 18 or older.
- Highschool diploma, GED equivalent.
