What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Services Cashier position at Action Wildlife Foundation?
Position Summary:
Action Wildlife is seeking friendly, outgoing team members to serve as Cashiers, who will be cross trained around numerous areas around the park. You’ll help create a welcoming experience for guests by handling admissions and retail purchases, and also leading small tours, sharing fun facts about our wildlife, assisting with the occasional encounter, and helping visitors have a memorable visit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and provide information about the park, exhibits, and daily activities
- Process admissions, memberships, retail purchases, and other transactions accurately using the POS system
- Lead occasional groups on tours, sharing educational and engaging information about the animals and conservation efforts
- Answer guest questions and ensure a positive experience for visitors of all ages
- Maintain a clean and organized cashier/tour area
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash drawer reconciliation
- Follow all park policies, safety procedures, and guidelines for interacting with animals
Qualifications:
- Friendly, outgoing personality with strong communication skills
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups and interacting with children and families
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Comfort around animals and willingness to work in an environment where wildlife is present (experience with animals is a plus)
- Resourceful, adaptable and capable of finding solutions independently
- Ability to work when the park is open (Wednesday-Sunday) and peak seasonal times
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Comfortable walking outdoors on varied terrain
