Job Summary
We are seeking skilled Tool and Die Makers/Machinists to join our manufacturing team. This role involves designing, fabricating, and maintaining precision tooling and dies used in various manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, experience with CNC machinery, and proficiency in CAD/CAM software. Duties
- Design and develop tooling, dies, and fixtures using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Program and operate CNC machines including CNC lathes, milling machines, and stamping presses utilizing CNC programming and CAM software.
- Perform precision machining using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure tight tolerances.
- Conduct electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes for complex component fabrication.
- Fabricate parts through welding, fabrication techniques, and assembly of tooling components.
- Interpret schematics, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to produce accurate tooling parts.
- Maintain and troubleshoot CNC equipment, ensuring optimal operation and safety standards are met.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on design modifications and improvements for manufacturing efficiency.
- Ensure all work adheres to quality standards through inspection with precision measuring instruments.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or Machinist in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with CNC programming (CNC lathe, CNC milling machine), CAM programming, and CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles, schematics, electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding, and stamping press operations.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, fabrication techniques, welding, assembly processes, and precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, and micrometers.
- Mechanical knowledge related to tooling design, machining processes, and manufacturing best practices.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Prior experience with manufacturing environments involving tooling fabrication for plastics injection molding or stamping presses is a plus. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent mechanical skills who can contribute effectively to our production team while adhering to safety standards and quality expectations.
